| Description | SYIS workshops and Online Courses are designed to enhance ministry effectiveness by providing training in key areas of biblical knowledge, godly attitudes and the practical skills needed for developing and maintaining healthy relationships. Training is very interactive, utilizing the most effective methods of adult learning. Learning activities include some lecture, Bible study, small group tasks, whole group interaction, demonstrations of skills, practicing of skills and prayerful reflection. Workshop modules provide opportunity for learning in four general areas: listening skills, conflict resolution skills, skills for living in Christian community and skills for long-term ministry effectiveness and enjoyment. SYIS workshops are normally five days in length. In some cases shorter versions of the workshop can be designed in accord with the needs and desires of the workshop sponsor and participants in consultation with International Training Partners. |
