Description The goal of the entire homiletics and preaching curriculum is to maximize each student’s ability to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to “rightly handle the Word of truth.??? Homiletics 1 is an introduction to the theory and practice of preaching. Some items covered are a theology of preaching, basic elements of sermon structure, and a study of three traditional approaches to preaching (i.e., topical, textual, and expository sermons). Practical speaking exercises include an introduction to a sermon as well as a brief expository message.
