| Description | At Hope, the Business and Management major prepares students for a high level of performance in business organizations, both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Christian ethics are integrated into each course, providing students with a solid basis for addressing contemporary social, moral, and ethical issues facing business professionals today. This program is perfectly suited for students who wish to pursue graduate studies, such as a Master of Business Administration. The B.A. in Business and Management program is 127 units. Concentrations Accounting The Accounting Concentration educates students on the important accounting aspects of organizations, including recording, reporting, and interpreting economic data. This data is essential to the success of an organization as it provides information for decision making and planning. The Accounting concentration prepares students for careers in industry, public accounting, government, or in nonprofit organizations. It also provides the undergraduate foundation for successful completion of the CPA or CMA examinations. Accounting graduates have a variety of career options - public, forensic, management or cost accounting, internal auditing, financial advising, and consulting. The program is offered in conjunction with California State University, Fullerton, which is located right across the street from Hope. In this program, students take a blend of coursework from each university, resulting in a broad educational experience. Management The Management Concentration prepares students for management positions in virtually any business setting. Students will gain an understanding of the functional components of organizations such as employee relations, operational and communication systems, and organizational structure. Emphasis is placed on organizational relationships and equips students with the skills needed for effective communication and management of personnel. Business internships are a great way to test-drive your career, contribute to an organization, and discover valuable lessons that will help prepare you for your career after college. With the assistance of your Internship Advisor, you will find an organization that meets your needs, and complete 140 hours there. Many students receive job offers at the end of their internship, and/or create lasting relationships that may help them in landing their first career job out of college. |
