| Description | This course delves into the traditions, customs and practices of Israel and the surrounding nations in order to understand the Tanach (OT) more fully, making the Scriptures become alive and relevant in our day. We will look at different aspects of the land, of the society and of daily life in the biblical period. Classes will taught on a topical basis and include such topics as: Biblical Geography; Tanach History; Mesopotamian and Egyptian culture; Nomadic and Pastoral Society; Climate, Calendar and Holiday Cycle; Family customs such as marriage, adoption and divorce and many more. Field trips are included in this course. |
