Description City Vision College offers an affordable program designed to equip Christian workers - especially those working in urban settings - to reach out to addicts and their families. The program is intended to help students to prepare to become certified addiction counselors, along with providing CEUs for those already in the field. Most importantly, while therapeutically solid, the courses are all taught in a Christian context - so Biblical principles are shared throughout the courses. City Vision College is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council - http://www.detc.org. It is the highest level of national accrediation available for an online-only college like ours. DETC has been around for over 50 years and is recognized by both the US Dept. of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (the same body that lends credible authority to all of the major regional accrediting bodies). DETC accreditation is recognized by the state higher education certifying boards of all fifty states. Students are eligible for all of the educational benefits provided by the US Dept of Veterans Affairs. And we are in the final stages with the US Dept of Education toward obtaining certification for federal Title IV student aid, such as Pell grants and guaranteed student loans. We are also an affiliate member of the Association for Biblical Higher Education - http://www.abhe.org. The program will also be serving as an Approved Education Provider for NAADAC - http://www.naadac.org - the association for addiction professionals - to offer training and education for those who are seeking to become certified and those who want to maintain their certification.
