Description This online, graduate-level course consists of a detailed exposition of the English text of the Gospel of Matthew. While a variety of methods of interpretation will be utilized, the focus will be on composition criticism, that is, examining the Gospel of Matthew in its final form. Special attention will be given to the concepts of Jesus as Messiah/King and his kingdom. provides an overview of all the writings of the New Testament. While attention is given to the historical and literary features of each writing, the emphasis is on viewing the New Testament as the Scripture of the Church.
