Description This is a modular training for different categories of Gospel workers, especially those in leadership positions of church denominations and mission agencies. The courses offered in the BAIS meet the desired cross-cultural mission orientation and training of in-service ministry leaders both theoretically and practically. The BAIS programme runs twice a year; May/ June and October/ November, for three years. This programme affords -participants opportunity to work and learn simultaneously. Besides ministry leaders, BAIS is also open to graduates of tertiary institutions who intend to work and learn about their role in global mission simultaneously.

Methods of instruction NEMI offers practical mission training whereby about 40% of the time is given to spiritual and character development of trainees - heart (personal and corporate devotions, flock groups, corporate fasting and praying, games, work duties, etc.), about 30% is given to developing the missionary trainees’ thinking or mind - head (Classroom, Christian living, communication and evangelism, practical training in; health, education, animal husbandry, crop production, building with mud and cement, computer appreciation, etc.), and since most of adult learning often takes place in the context of community 30% is given to nurturing contexts appropriate for developing the trainees’ ability to relate across cultures – (hostel, field trips, field practicum, family evenings, local church/ mission relations, etc.) - hands.

Prerequisite Programmes Must be born again and also be a growing disciple of Christ; applicants must be recommended by a church or mission agency. Generally, their pastors, churches, ministries/agencies have to recognize the calling of God on them and be willing to back their desire for training. Exceptions under unique circumstances may be made to this; applicants must have a minimum of WAEC/ NECO/ NABTECH five credits pass (including English language) in not more than two sittings in addition to possessing a minimum of certificate in theology or certificate in cross-cultural missions from any institution recognized by NEMA. Applicants that do not possess minimum of certificate in theology or cross-cultural mission will spend the first six months taking courses in the FTCM and getting mission field exposures, thereby extending their training time to three years and six months.
Other Prerequisites Certificate or Diploma in mission or theological studies is an added advantage
