Description The Certification Program in TESOL is a seventeen-hour program designed to prepare Christians to teach English to those whose primary language is not English. This preparation can be used in cross-cultural setting. This certification functions within the existing curriculum program. The TESOL certification will only be given to those completing at least a one-year certificate at OCC (or students approved by the Director of the TESOL program). Objectives: 1. Create and execute lesson plans in an English language learning environment. 2. Understand cultural issues related to teaching English. 3. Articulate the unique challenges and solutions for teaching English to non-native English speakers. Requirements: 17 hours in TESOL Studies General Requirements: This degree requires a pre-requisite of Analytical Grammar [EL 219] or Greek 1(A) [LA 211] and Greek 1(B) [LA 212].
