Description Purpose A program designed to provide a student with foundational knowledge, attitudes and practices for living faithfully and creatively with God in the world. This program will help students discern where “their deep gladness meets the world’s deep need??? (Buechner). This program will serve as the first year of all other ABC programs. Objectives To gain a formative knowledge of scripture and its context. To demonstrate a growing competency in interpreting and communicating the biblical message. To develop personal rhythms of prayer, study and service. To acquire a foundation for further study, including information literacy. To experience Christ-centred community through meaningful participation in a local church and at ABC. To develop interpretive thinking skills about contemporary culture and consider how the gospel impacts these concerns. To engage in a process that will help clarify their self-identity and their calling. To experience and/or express the Christian faith through the arts.
