Description Want to be involved in missions but don't know where to start? Know where you are going but want to be better prepared? Want to take 6 months or 1 year of your life to serve God in a wide variety of contexts? MDT is for you! Read on ... Our four main focus areas Community Experience and learn about other cultures first-hand. Meet and interact with people from many different backgrounds with often more than a dozen different nationalities represented on the team. This is a great environment to learn how to live with and love others! Knowledge Learn from experienced missionaries as they teach on a variety of subjects relating to discipleship and missions. Evangelism tools, adapting to other cultures, youth ministry, leadership and Bible studies are some of the topics covered. Life coaching Spend time with leaders who will be available to walk a road with you: listen, pray, challenge you and give good advice. These special relationships are there to help encourage you to make the most of your life. Practical experience Get some hands-on experience during various outreaches, each of which is in a different setting such as a rural area, the inner city or possibly in a predominately Muslim/Hindu community. Minister together with team mates as you use your talents and the practical skills learnt to share God’s love. Curriculum - some of the topics covered: Personal Spiritual Development Cultural Perspectives Reaching other faiths Creative ministries Leadership training Personal Evangelism Urban Ministry Presentation skills Kids and Youth ministry HIV and AIDS Are you ready for six months of exposure? Kick-off is in February and again in September. Extend to a year or more and get involved in other OM ministries after the course.
