Description This course introduces students to the basic elements of music notation and is intended to cultivate strong music reading and interpretive skills. Notation and accidentals are studied many scales and modes are explored, as well as simple and compound rhythms, intervals as they relate to sight singing, transposition between major keys and cadential writing. Attention will be paid to the relationship between music theory and its practical applications in a church setting.
