Coaching Mission International
Welcome to Coaching Mission International
Coaching Mission International leverages the cross-cultural, mission and leadership experience of qualified professional coaches and modern communication technology to multiply the effectiveness of frontline mission leaders. With the help of its partners, CMI is able to make high quality coaching available and affordable where it will make the greatest impact.
CMI’s Mission Coach Training program offers professional level coach training for cross-cultural and missions applications. The training is delivered primarily with distance-learning approach comprised of 7 modules over 24 months. One in-person, 5-day set of workshops is also required. Curriculum includes the concepts and practical skills of the core coaching competencies, the conversational coaching model, how to coach life purpose discovery, in addition to the essentials of coaching across cultures and into mission-specific challenges. The core curriculum was developed for CMI by Tony Stoltzfus using open source materials that are available to CMI graduates, enabling them to multiply coaching after graduation within their sphere of influence. CMI provides supervision, one to one coaching and group support to enhance trainee skill development during their first 200 hours of hands-on coaching. Between September 2009 and September 2011, MCT trainees provided over 4500 logged-hours of supervised coaching to more than 460 clients around the world. Current trainers represent 63+ years of missions and cross-cultural experience, including many hundreds of hours of coaching experience.
