The Pastoral Emphasis enables the student to begin to understand the world and God’s people, and relate the Word of Truth to both as pastoral staff in a local church. Objectives Upon completing the Pastoral Studies Emphasis, the student will be able to: • Demonstrate an ability to counsel, guide, and help others with their spiritual problems. • Develop and deliver expository messages that are accurate, clear, interesting, and relevant to everyday living. • Give evidence of a general knowledge of leadership principles, church organization, and administration. • Demonstrate an awareness of principles of communication to different age levels. • Minister as pastoral staff in the local church.
